Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

As Rikali is backing up, One grabs her from behind and holds her up to the wall. "You've been giving a choice. Why don't people want to listen?" Throws her to Laena. "A Siren can do things to you an Abbissian couldn't even dream of doing."

Ayn 11-26-2003 08:46 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

((Well, considering I wasn't RP'ing at that time, I wouldn't have known.))

Laena smiles at One. "You certainly are more charming than your brother, One Avalon." She points her staff at Rikali again.

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Riki doesn't move. "Why couldn't you just leave me to my research? I have caused no harm!"

Ayn 11-26-2003 08:58 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

"I am afraid I have been given orders. Had you listened to my advice earlier, then you would have not had to die." She starts singing, her tune melancholy and eerie, sounding of death. A large blast of ice shoots from her staff, directly at Rikali.

Wolf 11-26-2003 08:59 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Rikali ducks and releases a dagger from her hand, aiming to wound, not kill, Laena. "Leave me in peace!"

((meh, gotta go. Might be back later. But don't get your hopes up...there's two new books staring at my face right now...))

Da_#1_Link 11-26-2003 09:02 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

One intercepts the dagger. He then whispers something underneath his breath and a large black hand comes out of the wall and tries to smash Wolf. At the same time he addresses Laena. "I'm not here to be charming."

Gale 11-26-2003 09:27 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

((*coughonesacasanovacough* :P))
Gale sat awake in his bedroom, staring at the ceiling. He should force some human to paint something up there, so he had something to look at. Or maybe a tv. Those humans could do anything if it ment wasting more time in their pitiful lives and filling their pockets with money. Of course, all the bloody noise was keeping him from sleeping. What ever happend to taking intruders outside and shooting them? It always worked, it wasn't complicated. So why couldn't it be bloody done?! As nice as it was to have people to watch the castle, he rather do things himself... What the hell. Gale rose from his bed and slowly stretched. He had recovered quiet well in the short timespan he was resting, a gift of the Abbis genes that came in handy. He picked up Sin and walked out, towards the library.

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Rikali fights the hand despertly. "Don't want to fight. Got to get out. Now!" She slides under the hand's grip and pulls forth Bliss. She swings the battle axe at the hand and starts towards the door. "I'll come back for my information."

Gale 11-27-2003 09:29 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

"Ahem." Gale stands in the open doorway of the library, looking far more casual in his baggy blue pants and white shirt. Sleep covered his face, even if the Abbis finding it was like trying to grab something just out of your reach. That described him two minutes ago when he was lying in his bed. He looked somewhat annoyed, but not to a point of being dangerous. He was an insomniac, after all. Even when he wanted sleep, part of him liked staying up. A vicious tug-of-war, really. "No wonder I couldn't sleep. You left the door open." Gale paces down the red rugged stairs and continues to speak, not caring if anyone is paying attention. "It seems you have suicidal tendencies, demon, if you keep coming back here. Besides a hint of bravery in your actions, it's also downright idiotic. I won't let you escape this time. I'll hunt you until you're dead." Gale put on his best smile, which of course, looked rather scary when coming from the face of a lunatic. "You stupid, stupid girl. You've escaped here...what? Twice or so? You think you're luck is infinite? My God, demons really are as stupid as I give them credit for."

Wolf 11-28-2003 07:53 AM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

"Great. Gale." Rikali sighs. So much for research. She glances around the room. "Three on one is hardly fair, even for you, Abbis." Nevertheless, she backs up against a wall, to insure they couldn't surround her, and holds Bliss ready.

Gale 11-28-2003 10:11 AM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Gale looks at Riki blankly and bursts into laughter. "Fair? You think I care about being fair? Your ignorance is somewhat amusing. If you want fair go to a court, this is my castle." Sin appears in Gale's right hand and he continues to walk down the steps to the library.

One hears Gale's voice. "Damn, now it's gonna get ugly."

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Laena frowns. She had failed to follow orders... She crosses her arms slightly and watches Gale descend the stairs.

Da_#1_Link 11-28-2003 12:18 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Hurries to the doorway and sees Gale coming down. "Stop, Gale. Watch this." He turns back to Rikali. "You want to do research in this library? Go ahead. I'm giving you all the time in the world. But you won't get far. All the books are written in our language. Nobody would be able to translate for you unless they were of our blood. You wouldn't be able to get through your research, much less start it. Your attempts would be futile."

Gale 11-28-2003 12:23 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

"Obviously, One. However I'm not finished." Gale tosses Sin to one and looks at Riki. "You survived quite a bit, much to my annoyance. So now I'll try something diffrent.." Gale begins to chant in Abbissian and the colors in the library begin to fade.

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

One catches Sin and looks up as he hears Gale chanting. "Damnit." Runs and grabs Laena. He takes her to the back of the library. "This is gonna be bad."

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

"Hmmph. You are far more valiant than your brother." Laena heaves a sigh and watches the castle walls.

Gale 11-28-2003 01:29 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Soon everything in the library has become a dull black and white. Suddenly Gale's voice becomes louder and clearer, and as he speaks color returns to Riki rythmatically. "Il tempo è una costruzione per permettere l'esistenza mortale. Rikali, vede attraverso gli occhi del dio fino a vedere la riflessione del presente!" There is a flash of light that fills the room and when vision returns, color has as well. Gale stands smirking.

((Okey dokey, thas was a curse. It's in another but active language since I can't find a latin translator. The curse also states how to break it, so have fun with it. Try to figure it out on your own but if your translation is messed, pm me or something.))

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

One comes out from behind the shelves and looks at Rikali. "That's called Memories. Very old curse, only used by first generation. But I fail to give Gale his credit. It has no visible stream so it is very difficult to block. Good luck figuring it out."

Hayate meanwhile, has found himself in a room on the second floor of the libary. He took a look out a couple of minuites ago, and saw there were several people there. He's decided to lay low until they've gone, as there seem to be several of them.

Instead, he's been listening to the conversation, trying to pick up information about this world. The only sound coming from his little room is the quiet scratching of a pen on paper

Bhaal 11-28-2003 02:42 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Having watched Hayate leave through his summoned doorway Bhaal continues with his own business. Reaching towards the wall on the side no matter how far he reaches the wall remains a few inches beyond reach. Giving up on that Bhaal begins to walk backwards to the door he had entered from with traps going off as he walked although he ignored them as bolts stuck in his armour, blades missed him by inches and with trap doors opening as Bhaal walks calmly over them floating on air. Having got no nearer to the door he gives up on the latest idea and draws his sword and begins to carve runes in the floor. With his symbols finished the ceiling above starts to melt and as the stone comes down it forms itself into a stairwell leading to the floor above.

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

((Damn it all, Gale. *drowns your vodo doll in pickle juice*

Meh, I got the translation. Stupid fancy curse.))

Rikali mutters a long string of demonic curses and makes for the door. She wants out, before whatever curse Gale placed on her takes effect.

As she walks out of the door, she blinks and finds herself in a differant hallway, a differant time. But, as in a dream, the sudden change seems natural. She stares around the hallway and heads towards a door. She hesitates and opens the door.

The room is not large, but isn't tiny, either. A good sized room, one of the bigger ones this run-down inn has to offer. Katayk sits on the bed, staring at the wall. He slowly turns to stare at her. "Katayk..." Rikali sighs in relief and rushes to him. Katayk embraces her for a moment before pulling back, his eyes falling to view the two bloody bullet holes in her chest, and a slightly swelling stomach. His mouth opens in disbelief. "Riki...are you..." His voice drops off. Rikali nods.

Katayk rises, pushing his lover away from him. He leaves the inn, unable to face Riki. Inside, she begins to follow him silently, slowly. The pain from her injuries was fierce, and she wished to stay and heal. Tears ran down her face. She hadn't expected such a reaction. But as she enters the common room, an old and hated voice speaks coldly to her. "Run, Riki. Run after my brother. And then keep running." Her face turns to view...

...Gale. Rikali blinks. She had to get out of the castle. Now.

Gale 11-28-2003 06:09 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Gale let out a stiffled chuckle. "Hah, my cursing skills had gotten rather rusty, thought it seems I haven't lost my touch." Gale speaks to Laena and One, even though he can't see them. Lead this wretched thing out of my home. It is not to be harmed otherwise. I doubt I'll be sleeping." Gale walks by Riki and to the front of the library.

Wolf 11-28-2003 06:28 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

"Bastard. Running away again?" Rikali sneers at him, but the relief in her face is obvious.

She watches his retreating back from the creek she lies half in, half out. Blood pours out of the two gaping holes in her chest. Her eyes close in pain. Water rushes around her head.

Images flash in the remembered dream. Rikali walks again towards the castle, but for the first time. And once again, the attack comes from behind, Gale's foot placed in her back. The fight is short and brutal. When her eyes open again, she looks upon the hallway, shivering. Riki's face darkens in fear as she views Gale's retreating form. Shouldering Bliss, she moves quickly for the exit.

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Unlike Gale, One roars with laughter. "It has truly been too long! I miss the great times. Ahh, yes, this curse was truly great. Old man Parks really thought it through, didn't he?" Turns to Laena. "Memories is a curse in which the line of reality is blurred. The person cursed will have times where they are in the real world and instantly over into their memories. The change will seem so natural that they go crazy. I, myself, never used it but I do know the incantation."

She observes Rikali curiously. "I see.. An Abbis form of the dark arts, I assume?"

Gale 11-28-2003 07:51 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

"We wrote the dark arts." Gale strolls up to One and Laena, it seems he change his course. "Though every race has their own twist of it. Only the Arch Demons were said to match us, but they're a fairy tale.

Ayn 11-28-2003 08:02 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Laena looks at Gale, the curiosity still in her face. "I see.. I would like to know more about your race, if you'd be so kind as to enlighten me.."

Da_#1_Link 11-28-2003 08:02 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

"Yes. We have a certain . . .hold on the Dark Arts. But there is always much to learn."

Gale 11-28-2003 08:09 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Gale looks at Laena, somewhat suprised some one actually wanted to hear of his race, instead off merely juding them upon learning that he was a part of this race. "Well we're essentially what humans call "warlocks" and "witches." What the got wrong is that we can live for at the most five millenia. Due to our long lives there were only about three generations of us. Me and one are of the second generation, making us rather old. Not that anyone can tell."

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

"In Abbissian years, me and Gale are middle-aged. Our fathers were among the first. . and our other brother, Shiloko is third generation."

Gale 11-28-2003 08:28 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Gale crosses his arms. "The Abbis stayed together in a large city called "Capital" (for now I suppose). Of course this was during me and One's fathers' time. However, the Angels didn't exactly like us. They booted us out and we ended up in a place called Obersin, which is inside a volcano. That's where we were born."

Da_#1_Link 11-28-2003 08:34 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

As soon as Gale finishes, One sorta gets annoyed. "Yeah, we were born into the worst situation possible. It eventually led into a conflict after those bastard angels killed our King. . . . " One trails off as he looks into a far off lit candle.

Gale 11-28-2003 08:42 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

"A war started, that despite our valiant efforts we did not win. Thus those in our race are few now. Also are genes a reccesive. Making us rather unoticable."

Ayn 11-28-2003 08:43 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

"I see.. It is a shame that your race has been otherwise obliterated.. I'm afraid you two are the first Abbis I have ever seen, despite the fact that I have lived for longer than you have."

Da_#1_Link 11-28-2003 08:46 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

"And here we are. . dying off. Great to know, isn't it?" One gets increasingly annoyed. "Sorry. The subject doesn't exactly bring a smile to my face."

Gale 11-28-2003 09:02 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

"That's basically our story. The first generation taught us a lot of magic. My father was partnered with One's and they both taught us a lot of our current abillities. They were probally two of the smartest Abbis." Gale said the word "Father" in an odd tone. It was both spiteful and affectionate.

Ayn 11-28-2003 09:09 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

Laena nods at Gale, then turns to the wall of books. "I suppose, this being your library, that you have perused through most of these books.. Is there anything of interest?"

Gale 11-28-2003 09:12 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

"I have a many number of things. About 90% of them are in Abbissian, however."

Ayn 11-28-2003 09:37 PM

Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)

She smiles at Gale. "Surely you wouldn't mind translating some of it for me..?"
